If you live in Weston super Mare, it’s just £29 for unlimited yoga per month if you join our Do Yoga membership community here

Can beginners attend?

Yes, of course!

Most of the groups accept beginners. Please let the teacher know if you are new to the practice and we’ll make sure you get extra tuition.

What type of yoga is it?

Hatha Flow is the most popular form of yoga. It can be adapted to suit if you have a health issue that might affect your participation. Contact us in advance to discuss any modifications you might need and we’ll be happy to advise.

What to wear?

You don’t need a special outfit, although there’s some lovely yoga gear these days! Any gym clothes will do or a T-shirt with leggings or shorts. Try not to wear a baggy top because it will ride up when you are upside down.

Will we be barefoot?

Generally, yes, yoga is a barefoot practice. If you prefer, you can get special yoga socks with separated toes for grip.

Do I need to bring a mat?

Yes.. Please bring your own and any other props if you need them. How about these?

https://ekotexyoga.co.uk

Sustainable, higher quality mats and blocks that will accompany your yoga journey for years. We do have some equipment to lend however.

What else should I bring?

Your yoga mat and sense of humour! We don’t drink water during sessions as it can be distracting, but you may wish to have some refreshment with you for afterwards. We advise having a drink before the session (and maybe visiting the loo), purely to allow you to focus on your practice.

Will I need to shower?

Our Do Yoga sessions are not particularly sweaty compare to some. One of our yoga principles is cleanliness, we call it Saucha, so it’s nice to have a wash and put on clean clothes before your practice.

About Do Yoga classes

Any advice prior to class?

Please come to class well fed and hydrated but not having just eaten or drunk. Most people prefer to have a meal at least two hours before their yoga practice, else they find they don’t enjoy it as much.

What’s the class size?

The groups will be appropriate to the room size to allow plenty of distance between the mats. It varies between 6 and 15 people, but there will be at least 1.5m between you and your neighbour in class

Who comes to Do Yoga?

A wide range of people come to Do Yoga of all ages, shapes and sizes. The morning sessions tend to be a bit easier. Many seniors find this works for them. Most evening sessions are more dynamic if you want that, except for Wednesday evening which is extra chilled!

I’m pregnant, can I join?

If you are expecting a baby it’s advisable to wait until the thirteenth week before restarting a yoga practice. Experienced practitioners are welcome in any of the mixed ability groups; please let the teacher know as there are a few modifications for you. If you are new to yoga please get in touch and we’ll refer you to a private session or the dedicated Prenatal Group, see our Small Group information.

Are there private classes?

Absolutely. Visit our Private Classes page for full information. Our team of instructors are ready and willing to run a one-to-one or small group session for you at a time and place to suit.

Is there hands-on contact?

Normally, and with the participant’s permission of course, your instructor might offer a physical adjustment to help you achieve the correct posture. At the moment, we won’t be doing this so your teacher won’t touch you.

Is there music in the classes?

We have music in the sessions and yoga playlists that can help our practice be more absorbing. Please see our Spotify Playlist if you’d like to have a listen.

Do classes end with meditation?

Each yoga class ends with a brief guided relaxation, lying down. We call this Savasana. Most people enjoy this but you’re welcome to remain seated if you prefer. We will conclude with a short meditation or breathing practice, seated together in an upright position.
